Ok, so if you know me even a little bit, you’d agree that I cook a lot. Not just on the days I’m blogging either…like at least 5 days a week  [gotta save some days for going out, haha]. I’m always making something!

When the idea of a ‘Best Of’ list came up, it created a relatively large and really tough pool of items to choose only 10 from. So I decided to limit my selections to previously posted recipes which helped greatly, since I’ve only been blogging for 4 months, hehe.

Now that I think about it, 2013 was a damn fine year in food for me…

I expanded my taste parameters to items like Alligator and Turtle [gotta love New Orleans!], explored opportunities with food that I was otherwise ignorant about [see: Beans], learned that when it comes to Beets, there’s really nothin’ to it and for the first time ever, made me some Clam Chowdah!!

But most importantly, 2013 was the year I published my first blog capturing all this and end of year or not, each time I put up a post, I really do celebrate the opportunity to share it with you!

Thank you for the love and support you guys have given me from my first post, it’s really encouraging and helps me stay focused, so I can keep getting better and giving you the best of me and all things food!

  1. Your blog is an amazing work of art! I have spent so long gazing at your gorgeous recipes, personal rocking style and just fantastic, lovely, honest writing. I hope one day to create recipes half as enticing as yours! I am so glad you stopped by my new, recently birthed blog (where still working on finding my voice, and wondering if I should censor it for the general public, and wondering how exactly to photograph the food I make) so that I could discover yours. Thank you so much!

    1. You madam, have made my night.
Thank YOU for this comment and just because it’s flattering.
Seriously though, feedback like this really, really make me happy.
So thank you RueAnn for this earnest comment and if you need any help on your blog, you just let me know 😆😆😆

      1. Dana,
I am so glad I made your night! You made mine as well- your blog is absolutely amazing!
I must apologize for my delay in responding. I have been fighting a painful disorder for several years now, and for the past month I have also been trying everything possible to get over a rather awful sinus infection. As such, I have been sleeping more and visiting more doctors than usual. I have not had the energy to do all I’d like to with my blog- most importantly writing to bloggers like you who have been a huge inspiration!
I may take you up on your offer of help in the future! I know your blog will soon be one of the most gorgeous that are given book deals-you have an eye for beauty and a wondrous talent for creating gourmet magazine quality meals and photos. I want to make each and every meal you post!

        Have a lovely Sunday!

      2. Awwah!
That sucks to hear about how hard a time you’ve been having.
That’s a bummer 😦 but looks like you’re overcoming it like the champ you are so first of all, welcome back and secondly, you too 🙂

Go on, get it out..
