Ginger Honey Chicken Wings
Today is all about football.
That’s football, not soccer…
The AFC Playoffs game is tonight at 4:30 and since the plan is to go yell at the TV in someone else’s house,
The least I could do was bring food.
Gamefood.
Wings.
Wings never need much of an introduction, you probably don’t even need this fucking recipe.
But since this post is already a day late and I have to be at the mechanic in an hour,
I’ll just get right to it.
Although can I just say really quick, how annoying it is when people just start telling you their resolutions without you asking for them?
They just start fucking talking and it’s like, who asked you??
My girlfriend did this the other day and I had the unbelievable urge to just blast her in the face.
But I didn’t.
That’s how much I’ve already changed since the new year.
…see what I did there?
Go Pats 😀
Ginger Honey Chicken Wings
What I Used.
18-20 Full Chicken Wings. 4 tbsp Smoked Paprika. 4 tbsp Honey. 4 tbsp Soy Sauce. 4 tsp minced Ginger/Ginger Paste. Salt. Pepper. Olive Oil. 3 tbsp Minced Cilantro.
What I Did.
Season the wings with salt, pepper & a light drizzle of olive oil.
You can store them in the fridge like this overnight if you’d like.
I don’t know if it makes a difference..
Place them on a foil-lined tray.
Depending on how many wings your grill/broiler can contain, you may need to make 2 trays.
Grill/broil them under med heat until the side up starts to lightly char.
In that time, make the sauce..
In a bowl, mix:
2 tbsp Paprika, 2 tsp minced ginger, 2 tbsp soy sauce & 2 tbsp honey.
You will need to make this twice.
When the side up is lightly charred, spread the ginger-honey glaze over the wings.
Try and be thorough, you want the wings evenly coated.
Grill/broil for a couple mins more.
Then flip the wings.
And continue cooking until the side flipped also becomes lightly charred.
Brush the side up with another coating of the ginger-honey sauce.
Let cook another 3-5 mins or until a nice char is achieved.
Remove from heat.
Mix in a bowl with the minced cilantro.
Serve with plenty of napkins.
I had trouble focusing towards the end so the end result pictures are not my best.
So much potential though…sigh.
Dinner is saved. Really juicy. i like it.
Much Love, Mojisola

Hahaha! Good, good!

Oooh, looks soooo good. Love-love-love chicken wings, and eating them with my fingers skin and all, getting sauce (especially if sticky) all over my face… Only problem, I have to order them ahead of time from the butcher’s, so I can’t indulge in spur-of-the-moment-I-need-chicken-wings-now dinners…
Hahaha!
Wait a min…surely someone has the perfect take-out wings around you. Surely you’ve located this treasure by now, right?
xxx Darya!
Yummy! Looks good to me. Growing up, my parents always served wings with greens and rice. Now When I eat wings without greens and rice, it always feels like such a treat….like eating a meat patty without the bun and lettuce.
Niiice!
I’ve never had wings served like that before though.
Would they be cooked so tender you wouldn’t have to pick them up, hence them with rice greens?
Or was it a fork and hands sort of meal?
Chopsticks of course. I guess it makes the chicken go a bit further. I could eat a lot without greens and rice to fill me up!
hahahahaah!
Wow – this looks too good! I’ll have to try this out next weekend!
Do it, do it!
😀

And yes, I drive over 40 mins to this mechanic because they are just that. Fucking. Good.
I always send them a huuuge gift basket over the holidays too because of it.
7 years with them. Longest relationship in my life to date 😀
Bless you for charring the wings and then re-glazing them.
And WTH? You didn’t blast her about the resolution? Had you already been drinking? LOL!
Heh heh heh heh…
Yes..yes I was drinking 😀
And Bob, charring the wings first is the best/only way to go when you’re glazing wings.
Thank YOU for recognizing that 😀
