It’s Complicated
I’m realizing I gotta get up on my TV show game.

The amount of people that tried to have a discussion with me about a TV show I’ve never watched…
This weekend alone, the amount of people that tried to talk to me about Parks & Recreation, Empire, House of Cards…it’s embarrassing.

I just stand there going, “Oh…..Ohhh…oh okay, yeah ok…so like Claire’s the wife…?”
And they just glare at me while I put on an apologetic look.
What can I say, it’s hard for me to commit to things.

It’s hard for me to commit to anything in general, it’s always been that way, but one thing I did commit to this weekend was to go outside.
The weather dared to creep into the low 40s this weekend and I was all over it.

  1. Not watching TV shows is not a bad thing. Half the ones I like others don’t watch and the other half I cannot stand and everybody loves. I’m okay with that. A DVR can help you be more committed if you must… Glad the temps allowed you to go outside!! ❀

  2. You finally got some bearable weather…yeahhh!! I myself have to try and juggle alot, trying to keep up with these tv shows and all. Love the outfit though.

    1. I know right!!
It was awesome to be shooting outside again, I am NOT an indoors person πŸ™‚
Another TV show they’ve been getting on me about is Scandal.
      One of these days…

      1. [Wispering….] I don’t watch scandal either. Am still trying to get what all the rave is about…lol, sorry to say, and seeing that I didn’t get it, am leaving it alone.

    1. Yessss, I heard of that!
That’s the one with Viola Davis, right?
Who was telling me about that…?
I guess a new season is starting or something because my friend is loosing her mind over it lol
      Add that to the list.

  3. You don’t know about House of Cards?! Hahah no but really I always feel embarrassed but how many tv shows I have watched completely through. TV series are chill time for me and my boyfriend and it’s something I look forward to after a long day of work. TV at home, and my kindle on the bus. That’s time when I just turn my brain off and focus on something just for me! This reading my kindle on public transport has been amazing actually i got it for christmas and I’m on my 7th or 8th book now! I should do a book review post haha. brb…. πŸ˜›

    1. Hahaha!
      Yeah no good for you!
My commute is driving so I don’t have the down time to watch TV but I do play the hell out of my Books on CD, courtesy the Boston Public Library πŸ˜€

  4. You know I love some Parks and Rec but I would recommend starting it when you are in need of a good laugh. The first season is OK (like The Office it was six episodes long and only the last two really reflect the direction the show would eventually take) but from the second season onward things get very funny very quickly. House of Cards is good–not as much fun as, say Scandal but Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are fantastic. And watch out–you think now it’s bad, just wait until the second half of the final season of Mad Men comes around in about a month!

I think this was the first weekend in a while in which we got some snow and you guys actually had some nice weather while we got some snow on Sunday, so I’m glad you were able to get out and enjoy the outdoors. πŸ™‚ One day it’s predicted to go up to near 50(!) here, and I don’t know what to do with myself.

    1. Yes!
Scandal & Mad Men seem to be my top offenses…I’m already overwhelmed.
And the break in weather was lovely, you should have seen all the people out and about – blinking at the sun, looking around like newborns.
If it gets to 50, I’m in short and a tank. That’s practically summer weather to us πŸ˜€

  5. Girl, I know the feeling. EVERYBODY at my job watches all these shows, and I actually have an ongoing list of movies and shows to see this year. Empire took me a couple episodes to get into, but it’s totally awesome, if you decide to tune in.

    1. Thank you!
It’s a skirt. The top would be wayyy to big if it were a dress haha.
And I heard How to Get Away With Murder is awesome! It’s on billboards everywhere here!

      1. We both liked it but I had a hard time following. It’s a show where you have to pay attention. πŸ˜€ We will most likely pick back up.

  6. hahaaha I’m exactly the same, I usually give up half way through a season which people are dumbfounded by- I’m a busy woman hahahah

    great outfit too!

    x han

    1. Thanks Jasmine and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Part of me thinks all this TV watching is just a seasonal thing. When summer comes and people can do doing things outside more, I feel like the dynamic of being committed to a show will change.
Because if it’s summertime and you’re inside watching all this TV – something’s terribly wrong πŸ™‚

  7. You are lucky! I’m great at not committing to things – except tv shows. I’ve watched so many it’s probably becoming embarrassing. Wanna go halfsies on my propensity to lose myself in fiction? :p

  8. the only show I watch currently is House of Cards…i swear all my friends are like “empire this” being mary jane that” “scandal this” and im just like…mmmhmmm…yea, sounds great lol i realize i just don’t like waiting for the next episode of a show…which is probably why i enjoy HOC…binge watchers unite!

    1. I am the SAME way…I think that’s why I just lose track of it all.
It’s like, really?? I seriously have to wait until next week and the week after and the week after.
How much time you think I got???
I still gotta catch up on American Horror Story ….

  9. I don’t watch TV TV. I just binge on series that have been recommended. But the actual TV set hasn’t been turned on….years? Binging is the best.

I’m one of the younger ones at work so the older ones always ask me if I’ve been watching “insert TV programme that oldies like to watch”. If I say no, I’ll get a play by play synopsis of a programme I have no interest in watching. I haven’t figured out how to stop the lecture.

    1. There’s no stopping it.
That’s like someone saying, “guess what” and whether you’re interested and reply ‘what?’ or not, they’re still telling you whatever the hell it is they want to tell you.

  10. I’m the same way! The trick is Netflix. You only have to be committed for a day. No anticipation, no hold over your life. Netflix is the answer!! πŸ™‚
