Thanksgiving Buttermilk Biscuits
I’m prepping for the big day by trying my hand at these buttermilk biscuits and I’m slightly annoyed that I still can’t seem to bake a fucking thing without flour getting everywhere.
Shit!
Thanksgiving Buttermilk Biscuits
What I Used
3 1/2 cups self-rising flour. 1 1/2 sticks Salted Butter. 2 cups very cold Buttermilk. 1 tbsp Sugar. 2 tsp Baking Powder. A pinch of Salt. 1 Egg.
What I Did
Place the butter in freezer and chill.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt & baking powder.
Over the bowl, grate the frozen butter.
Stir the butter shavings into the flour mix and then using your hands, start to work the butter into the flour, grinding it between your fingers to break apart any clumps.
Pour the cold buttermilk into the bowl and using a large spoon, give it about a few good stirs but be careful not to overmix.
Overmixing works against that flaky texture you are going for here.
The batter should be a little wet to touch.
Lightly flour the dough and form it into a ball.
Place the dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and form into a rectangle about 1.5 inches thick.
Place the tray in the freezer for about 10 mins to make for easier cutting.
Remove tray from freezer and cut into even squares (or circular mounds using a tumbler glass).
Separate the pieces about 1/2in apart from each other on the baking tray.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg, then brush it on top of the biscuits.
Now at this point, you can chose to freeze them for later by placing them in an air-tight ziplock bag and storing them in your freezer or bake them immediately.
When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 400F.
Bake in the center of your oven for about 15 mins or until the top of the biscuits is golden brown.
Serve with buttahhh.
Sadly I ran out of daylight before I could get the final shots and it was just one of moments where it’s like…….*rolls eyes*
Yall get the message.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, PILGRIMS.

These sound so delicious!!
Carb overload but damn
I love buttermilk biscuits! Where is the pic of the baked biscuits? Did I miss it?
I laughed out loud that you can’t bake without getting flour everywhere…get used to it…it doesn’t get better! Are you the same with paint? I always say I might as well dip myself into the paint at the very beginning and get it over with! I usually find paint in the most unusual places, even a week later!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I’m heading out to my very first black Friday to Kate Spade, my girl mentioned that there are going to be sales I cannot miss, wink wink!
Ooooh!! Get a cute Kate Spade bag!!!
And no you didn’t miss them. They aren’t there because I ran out of daylight and the biscuits didn’t last the night.
That part also annoyed me because they were good as hell with that flaky buttery crust, mmm!!
“buttahhh” lol! Trust me, I get the running out off daylight dilemma. Biscuits look great!
Right!!?
These foodblogger problems are sooo annoying!!
I’ll be they were super yummy!! Especially with the buttahhh!! 🙂

My body is like WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!?!
Hahaha! I know! These holidays are killers! I just bought 4 Pounds of butter TODAY!! Our poor hearts 💕 ❤️ 💕 are saying Noooo!!!
Europeans are laughing at us Linda 😀 😀
Ain’t that the truth 😝
Woah! Definitely gonna try this later.

Flour flour everywhere…so they are like what we call a scone yes?
I’m not sure…. maybe…?
But you guys have biscuits too I thought.
Look don’t ask me any baking questions you know I’m barely getting by here :p
Flour is such crap with its tiny particles that will go everywhere if you LOOK at it in the wrong way. I say this is a total flour conspiracy in making your mess.
I just wanna know who are the people that DON’T have this problem, who are they???
Looking great
I’m gonna be doing biscuits too
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Oh that’s great!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys too ❤
I get flower pouring everywhere….not funny at all.
