Alright alright alright – I’m back.

What’s everybody up to, how y’all doing?
How was your summer?

Are you back in school, did you get a new job, hell did you get a a promotion….did you have a baby, did you move, did you get a new man, did you let go of your old one, what’s good everybody??!!

Yo so I have to be honest, it was a real struggle deciding on whether to come back and then if I did – how I wanted to come back.
Because we all know a comeback ain’t a comeback unless it’s a real motherfucking comeback.

Meanwhile I was busy having this light, beautiful, delicious summer, with all this free timeee on my hands….. IT. WAS. EVERYTHING.

Having all this free time….free from chasing sunlight for food photos, free from menu planning for the blog, free from having to edit all these damn pictures…just fucking free to do whatever I want….absolutely incredible.

Liberating.

This summer was like my coming out season in a hundred ways.
But it’s all good, we have plenty of time to catch up now that I’m back 🙂

Alright, so – knowing this lil sabbatical of mine was drawing to a close, I’ve been gradually easing myself back into food photography.

This is a little snack I made a couple weeks ago when it was still pleasantly hot outside.
Because as long as they still selling watermelon…. we eating it.

  3. Ahhhhhh! I’m so glad you’re back! I owe you an email after taking a bit of a hiatus myself for much of the back half of summer. This looks lovely, and would be perfect on a day like today (muggy and hot, because it is the official last week of summer).

  5. Welcome back girlfriend! Good to hear you had a good summer. It’s been wet and not as warm up here in the big smoke, except for the last week or so while it’s been hotter than any other September on record! Go figure.
Thanks for popping by the old ball and chain and leaving a lovely comment, it was nice to hear from you.
This watermelon salad recipe sounds so wonderfully refreshing. The cayenne is an interesting addition, my friend salts her watermelon; the salty feta is a beautiful contrast to the sweet watermelon. Looking forward to a beautiful fall.

  8. SO FREAKING HAPPY YOU DECIDED TO COME BACK. Blogging needs you. •insert pointy uncle sam type fingers here but cooler and less bollocky*

Also, who’s squinting at the addition of pepper? Cayenne pepper is my fave part of this. Though I’m admittedly not a watermelon fiend. I’d probably like it more if I was offered it more with pepper. Just sayin…

    1. Hiiiiiii Frankieeeeee!!!
Hey love! Yes i’ve managed to crawl back into the interwebs and the blogosphere, albeit a bit reluctantly.
How are ya babe? What’s cookin’ good lookin’?

As for the bit of cayenne, I’m sure it’ll work on other fruits too…maybe not banana tho…uh uh

  9. Hi Dana, I’m glad you’re back. This watermelon snack looks so good and refreshing. The cayenne touch is an original addition. Can’t wait to try it. Have a good day!
