This is ambitious. Fantastic.
Haha! Thank you!
I love your list – and don’t worry about feeling bad after the bread, just bake your own from scratch! No additives for a start, and secondly you won’t be eating it as undercooked as the ones in the shops are.
Btw I’ll be using some beer tomorrow for my elderflower pancakes…but you can’t get much more fatty and unhealthy than that 😉
Oh I love it!
Beer for Elderflower pancakes?! What kind of goddess are you?
As for the bread, yes – I plan on baking it. I’ve seen some pretty good recipes on wordpress so now I just need an occasion to make it 🙂
Buy cheese? Surely that constitutes an occasion!
….
I’m lactose intolerant….
Perfect! While your friends (=occasion) enjoy the cheese, you can nibble away at the bread…
You know what? I think you might be on to something 🙂
First, I found your blog through you liking one of my posts, so thank you! Then I found your bucket list. I love this idea of a recipe bucket list, as I too have one, just never wrote it down, great idea!
Second, I might be able to help you with 1 of your bucket list items. A few days ago I posted a recipe for Beer Bread on my blog here: http://freebiequeen72.wordpress.com/2014/06/28/beer-bread/ It’s super easy to make and delish, if I do say so myself. 🙂
Aw, thank you!
I’m so glad you found my blog too and are inspired to post your own recipe bucket list.
I will definitely take a look at your beer bread because that’ll combination alone with knock 2 items off my bucket list.
Hope you keep checking me out. I’ll be doing the same 🙂
Give a shot to rabbit with prunes and onions in a slow cooker. French fav and trad, great sweet and savoury balnce and you can adapt it really easily.
Fantastic blog by the way, love it!
Ooh, now that’s an interesting combination!
I don’t have a slow cooker though…any alternate ideas?
In my experience, any pot with a top would do on low heat… check out “lapin aux pruneaux” recipes and you should get good recipes and great ideas to make them you own with a personal twist!
I’ll keep that in mind, thanks Pepe!!
Bugs? Emm, I might originally be from Borneo but personally, I draw the line at putting anything in my mouth if it’s still wriggling or falls within the broad category of genus or species. Now Octopus Ink Risotto, I like 🙂
Heeeheeee!!
I can’t deal with squirmy things either but when it comes to squirmy edibles…I’m…I..
In the name of food you know?
:):)
Love the list, Dana.
And your blog which I have only just discovered!
Aw thank you!
And I’m so glad we came across each other 🙂 🙂
Awesome ideas, loving the molecular gastro one. It’s all about Agar Agar!
Yes sir, indeed it is and I am not ready to tackle it yet.
Mainly because I have to make a fairly costly investment to get the appropriate ‘chemicals’ before i can begin this exercise.
What have you created from this?
I’ve got a bucket list too, so much fun. Eat bugs is NOT on mine, lol. I have a French recipe with rabbit on my blog if you want ideas, there we have some! xx
Yesss,
I’ll definitely pop over for that rabbit recipe!
Thank you Sofia!
Hey,
A recipe bucket list is a pretty awesome idea – actually thinking about being a copycat right now! 😛
I hope you will manage to make it all happen.
Btw thanks for visiting my blog.
Have a baketastic baking day, (or in your case: Have a crazy cooking day,)
Your Backdirndl
https://backdirndl4you.wordpress.com/
Nah, it’s ok, totally copy it!
That way I have something to pester you about when I come back to your blog :-).
Hey girl, I have a fantastic recipe for Borracho beans that uses beer. I have converted those that are total bean haters with this recipe. I just came across a really great paleo banana bread that’s is all good for you,,, if you are interested in a tea type bread. I’d like to try some marrow too,,, you know,, BONE marrow,,, my soon to be ex-BF has been falling down on the job lately, can you tell? Lol,,
Nice!
Ok, I’ll do a search on your blog and check it out!
Thanks for the heads up!!
I don’t have them up yet,, I’ll work on it. 🙂
I’ve been wanting to make a dish with rabbit too. Here is what is in my “to make” recipe folder: http://www.tastingtable.com/entry_detail/chefs_recipes/18313/How_to_Make_Braised_Rabbit_with_Creme_Fraiche_Bacon_and_Qui.htm
If you make this, let me know how it turns out 🙂
I love how you’re crossing out items on your list. Most people just make a list and that’s that… so refreshing to see someone actually go through with their plans and put effort into making life better to live (at least, that is why I write lists; to do things that enhance my life that I wouldn’t otherwise do necessarily.) lol So the point is, good for you! 😀 I really suck at comments, apparently. :DD
http://www.soniamaverick.com
nah, you’re good. I understood what you were saying just fine so thank you for that!!
It’s actually exciting, the opportunity to cross something off this list so yeah, I definitely try and keep with it just so I get to do that 😁😁
What lists are you working on?
Recipe bucket list as well as I am just learning how to cook. Bucket list for places to ravel to both in my country and outside of it. And, of course, clothes to buy. 😀
Eat bugs 🙂 I don’t know why, I didn’t put that in my food bucket list. Would love to know how it goes 😉
Hahah, not too late to add it in 🙂
I can help you with the rabbit thing!! And the bugs I guess.
That’s awesome, do tell!
Or share a link 🙂
Yas to soy ice cream and homemade ramen! I would love some cocktail recipes too. 😉
Yeah I’ll throw in some cocktail recipes, especially for fall.
Note they will NOT be pumpkin spiced 😝.
I made Bone Marrow broth the other day. Delicious but heavy.
Yeah?
Hmmm…that’s good to know then because I already knew it was super fatty from all the collagen in the bones but this gives cause for pause…
Cook Salmon on a Cedar Plank? That sounds awesome! My mum eats LOADS of fish and she never misses the opportunity of preparing it for us when we go back home, but she never did it on a cedar plank! Would that change the taste of the salmon? Hoping you can manage to make it one day and looking forward to hear your experience.
It gives it a sort of woody/smoky taste but it’s not dramatic or overwhelming.
I most def intend to make it, will let you know when I do too ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and leave such a warm comment 🙂
xxoo
This is a brilliant idea – I’ll have to get to thinking. Definitely would make cooking (and eating) more interesting. Although I’d have to discount the meaty options, being veggie!
Yeah scratch the meats, make veggies more interesting!
I’m planning to build a smokehouse so smoking meat is way up on my list! And does swallowing a bug because you’re laughing and it flies in your mouth count? Pork belly! ‘Nuff said.
Such a great concept you have here; it’s so simple and yet so overlooked. Awesome blog too–your pictures are incredible!
Oh wow thank you so much!! This comment just made my day ❤ ❤
